Domaine Pfister

France (3).png

Domaine Pfister, established in 1780, has a rich winemaking history in the village of Dahlenheim, noted for wine production since 884. Located west of Strasbourg in Bas Rhin, the cool climate and limestone soils make it ideal for Riesling. Mélanie Pfister, the eighth generation winemaker, officially took over in 2006, with her father still actively involved. Internships at prestigious estates worldwide and a groundbreaking new cellar in 2010 marked her journey. Since 2018, they've embraced organic practices and received certification in 2021, incorporating biodynamic preparations from 2019. Mélanie's approach involves parcel-specific viticulture, emphasizing natural and healthy grape farming. In 2019, the label underwent a redesign, incorporating acronyms for each wine's vineyard name. With a production of around 5,000 cases annually, Pfister's wines, known for their purity, elegance, and character, reflect a family tradition of crafting aromatic, well-balanced, and dry styles.
